Kuantan - Teluk Cempedak

Kuantan, situated at the centre point of the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia, is the state capital of Pahang. Due to its geographically strategic location, Kuantan has became the future growth centres and a hub for trade, commerce, transportation and tourism. It is also the nearest city in East Coast connecting to Kuala Lumpur, the capital of the country, and the West Coast.

Kuantan is famous for its natural scenery & destination. Besides the famous Taman Negara National Park, Kuantan is also well known for its beaches and waterfalls. Among them are Teluk Cempedak, Batu Hitam, Balok, Chenor, Pantai Sepat, Beserah, and Cherating.

The nearest beach from town where visitors and families will go is Teluk Cempedak, which is 5km from Kuantan. Besides having a great time with family eating sandwich and chatting on a picnic rug, there are a few activities can be carried out at Teluk Cempedak. There are facilities for extreme sports like extreme biking, pharachuting, jungle trekking and even the rock climbing (or jumping if you could). If that's too much to handle, one can just walk on the bridge with your love one to the other side of the bay.

If you are here to to relax or simply have a time out for you've been doing, try one thing - DO NOTHING.  Just sit on the sand or bench, and let the wind touches your face. Throw away your watch and turn off your phone. R.E.L.A.X~

But somehow do watch out for macaques as they are everywhere. Do take care of you belongings especially FOOD as they will grab it and run to the top of the trees. I'm sure you cant get it back~! And don't try to play with the monkeys or try to be a hero. I almost got bitten by the monkey (last photo) when I tried to play with it. They have SHARP teeth~!!

Other than that, the beach is lovely, especially when you sit on the shore waiting for sunrise or sunset. How romantic <3

If you're hungry after walking all the way from the other side of the beach, you can find a few local food stall selling coconut drinks and food. Or, you can try the McDonald which is the fast food franchise that situated nearest the sea throughout Malaysia.

Ahhhh.....what a day : )
If you have time, you can continue with the visit to Cherating Turtle Sanctuary

  1. Just back from there yesterday. Nice place, only that you really need a lot of effort to wake up before 6am to catch the sunrise.

There's also the famous curry mee nearby.
