TO THIS day, there are still many young Malaysians in the Peninsula who know little of Sarawak. The thought of having to part with their family and study in a university in the state is frightening to some.
Those who go out on a limb, however, and come to the state would often find it hard to leave when the time comes. One such university which has opened the minds of many young West Malaysians is Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas).
Since it opened its doors in August 1993, the university has been a gateway for them to not only pursue tertiary education but also to discover Sarawak.

Colmar Tropicale - French romance in Malaysia 法國村
Guess where is this place?
The picture above is NOT taken in France but somewhere in Malaysia called Bukit Tinggi. You will be surprised and amazed by this little French-themed village & resort "Colmar Tropicale".
Colmar Tropicale is situated at Berjaya Hills, Bukit Tinggi, Pahang, Malaysia. Bukit means hill and Tinggi means high in Malay language, which best describes the resort that settled at 2,700 feet above sea-level amidst 80 acres of rainforests.

Flor de la Mar - Melaka Meritime Museum
Just 10 minutes walk from the famous gateway A Famosa you will see a big wooden ship "grounded" on the shore of Melaka river. It doesn's look dilapidated but so sure this is not the kind of ship that will sail in the sea these days. So what is it?

Kuantan - Cherating Turtle Sanctuary
Located 50 km north of Kuantan, Cherating is undoubtedly one of the most popular beach on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. The sandy beaches are dotted with pleasant casuarinas trees and calm water, making it an attractive venue for backpackers, tourists and also locals. There is a turtle sanctuary near Cherating and Pulau Ular (Snake Island) is just a few kilometers away from Cherating.

Colourful Deepavali Kolam - diwali valthugal
On October, visitiors going into a shopping mall will be surprised and amazed by a big colourful picture on the ground of the entrance. These pictures (kolam) are formed in peacock pattern or geometric design. In Southern Indian, this is nothing special as Indian woman will draw one every morning in front of their house, but when you see this in Malaysia it means there's a grand festival around the corner.

Nasi Lemak 2.0
Nasi Lemak is a common food that you can find at almost every corner of Malaysia. It has became one of the nation food of Malaysia and listed as 10 Best & Must Try Food in Fabulous Food 1Malaysia Food Trail 2009. It was once the major food of the Malays but now every Malaysian and even foreigners love it. It was once served during breakfast but now you can have it any time, even better for supper at a mamak stall chatting with friends.

The Origin of Kuala Lumpur
Most of the people know Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, for its Petronas Twin Towers. But not much knows that it's once rich and well known for the tin mining. Merely some knows that the name of Kuala Lumpur actually came from a story related to tin mining.

Mulu - more than nature
Gunung Mulu National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a place 30 minutes flight from Miri where nature wonders are within hand-reached. Butterflies will make your journey beautiful & the unique shape of the stalactites & stalamites will tell you the story of time. Take a deep breath, let the butterflies lead your way to nature.
Or you can get on an adventure walk along the Head Hunter's trail to the world's largest underground chamber, The Sarawak Chamber, where it has been said that the chamber is so big that it could accommodate about 40 Boeing 747s, without overlapping their wings. The nearby Deer Cave was, for many years, considered the largest single cave passage in the world.Other notable caves in this area are Benarat Cavern, Wind Cave, and Clearwater Cave; which contains parts one of the world's largest underground river systems and is believed to be the largest cave in the world by volume at 30,347,540 m³.
This is something you shouldnt miss. I'm sure you will drop you jaw here :)
